Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
Doorlist is an iPhone app that finds events and registers you for them using answers you've given before. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it goes to, and how to delete it. “We” means the Doorlist developer.
The short version
- Your logins to Luma, Partiful, Eventbrite and other event sites stay on your phone. We never receive them.
- You sign in with Apple. Your saved answers and booking history are stored with your account on our server so they follow you to a new phone.
- Searches send your request, your town, and the names of events you've booked to our search partners. Never your exact location.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- You can delete your account and everything we hold about you from inside the app.
What we collect, and why
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple account identifier (from Sign in with Apple) | To recognise your account across devices | Our server |
| Your saved answers: name, email, phone number, and anything you choose to answer on event forms (for example company, job title, dietary needs) | To fill event sign-up forms for you, and to restore them on a new phone | Your phone and our server |
| Booking history: event names, links, dates, places, status, and the answers sent | To show your Events list and calendar, and to restore it on a new phone | Your phone and our server |
| Search requests you type or say, your town, region, country and time zone, and names of events you've booked | To find events near you that fit what you asked | Sent to our server and search partners for that search; not kept with your account |
| Voice recordings of answers | To turn what you say into text | Sent to our server and our transcription partner, then deleted. We don't keep recordings |
| Usage records: which features you used, when, and what they cost us (for example tokens and seconds of audio), tied to your account or a random install ID | To run the service, prevent abuse with daily limits, and understand our costs | Our server |
| App analytics: which screens and features you use (for example opening an event from Explore), the app version, device model and iOS version, tied to a random install ID or your account ID. Never your answers, name, email or phone number | To see what works and what to fix | PostHog |
| Survey responses, if you choose to answer an in-app survey | To hear what you think of Doorlist | PostHog |
| Search quality records: the request you typed or said, the AI model's reply, how long it took and what it cost | To check that search results are good and spot errors | PostHog |
| Crash and error reports: what the app or server was doing when it failed, device model and iOS version. No answers or contact details | To fix crashes | Sentry |
What stays on your phone only
- Your sign-ins to event sites (Luma, Partiful, Eventbrite and others), including the cookies they set.
- Your precise location. Doorlist turns it into a town on your phone; only the town is sent.
- Your calendar. If you turn on “Skip times I'm busy”, Doorlist reads it on your phone to flag clashes. Nothing from it is sent.
- Notifications. They're created on your phone; no push service is involved.
Who we share data with
We use these service providers to run Doorlist. Each receives only what the feature needs, and only when you use it:
- OpenAI: your search request, town, and names of past events, to search the web and rank results.
- Exa: your search request and town, to find event pages.
- ElevenLabs: voice recordings, to transcribe answers you speak.
- Render: hosts our server and database in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Render's infrastructure.
- PostHog: app analytics, survey responses and search quality records (United States).
- Sentry: crash and error reports (United States).
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, and Apple's on-device speech recognition when our transcription is unavailable.
When Doorlist books an event, the answers on that form go to the event site and its host, exactly as if you had filled it in yourself. Their own privacy policies apply to what they receive.
We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your account data (answers, booking history, preferences) is kept until you delete it or delete your account.
- Answers you forget in the app are removed from your account on the next sync.
- App analytics, survey responses, search quality records and crash reports are kept for up to one year.
- Usage records linked to your account are deleted with your account. Records tied only to an install ID are kept to understand costs and may be deleted at any time.
Your choices and rights
- See and edit every saved answer in the Answers tab.
- Delete your account in the Answers tab under Your account. This erases your profile, booking history and account usage records from our server.
- Turn off location, calendar, microphone and notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to processing. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Doorlist is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before the change applies.
